adstringendum | 32. Community Service [video]

[Hello there, Adstringendum, it's your friendly neighborhood tribesman showing his smiling face to the network. For those not in the know, this is actually a bit of an uncommon thing for Sokka recently, so hopefully his enthusiasm can make an impression all around.]

Things have been rough lately, so I've got a few positive announcements I want to make.

First of all, Juliet and I are planning to start a community art project, and we want everyone here to have an option to be involved, regardless of artistic talent. Spirits know, I'm not exactly a great artist, but I'll be submitting some stuff anyway.

So, what do you need to do? Send us your art, of course! We'd like to have a visual history of what sticks out for you and your time here in the city: Special events, important moments, anything you'd want to illustrate. If you can provide a date along with it, all the better. Juliet and I have supplies, so all you need to do is ask and we'll get those to you if you need them or want them. When we've got everything collected, we'll put it into a gallery and it'll be like a visual history of Adstringendum. Pretty neat, huh?

Second point of order? We're still looking for people to join the Adstring City Players. We've got quite a few people interested now, but the more the merrier. Additionally, we're looking for story ideas. What do you guys want to see? Is there a particular genre we should focus on? Or even ones we should avoid? The more feedback we have on this, the better.

Whatever you're comfortable with, Ty Lee. You're already helping out with the acting troupe, so it's not like you aren't doing your part already.

You know me, always recruiting. What I'm really hoping for is some direction on what we can perform.

I thought we were poking fun at people? Like, those ones you suggested.

We are. But that's going to get old eventually, right? I'm thinking about longevity here.

Ooh, I know! We should totally do a love story. Everyone likes love stories.

Sure! Got any in mind? Love Amongst the Dragons didn't seem to go over all that well here, so...

I don't really know any. There's that one with the two lovers in the mountain.

That one's pretty good. We could maybe write an adaptation for this place. Might be fun.

I think people would like it. I mean, you'd have to have a totally black aura to not like them.

I can think of a few people here that would fit that description, but I don't think that's going to deter us.

We'd need earthbenders. Where are we gonna find some of them? [yep, she's seriously asking.]

Toph, Lin, Korra, Bolin... Actually, Bolin would probably really enjoy it, from what I can tell of him.

Me too! It's been so long, it'll be nice to do something constructive and fun.

It'll be the greatest show that people have seen. Next to all of the other productions we do, of course.

I'm so glad it's you helping out, Ty Lee. Your attitude's just the kind of thing we need more of around here.

I know. There's a lot of bad auras in this place and people are always so down and dreary. People totally need to cheer up.

Not to make excuses, but you can see how hard it can be, right? And the more time that passes, the worse it can get.

Totally. A bad aura is infectious and if you catch it then you'll just be down. That's why I'm focusing on positive things because pink auras are just the cutest.

I can't say I ever want my aura to be pink, but if there's a blue equivalent... I'll take it.
